Why this method
- Smaller files mean faster page loads — useful for Core Web Vitals and general site performance
- Converts on the way to your drive — no separate converter site, no re-upload
- Works for a single image or a whole batch at once
Tutorial
WebP images are typically much smaller than PNG at comparable quality, which matters if you're publishing them on the web. This guide shows how to convert and land the result directly in your cloud drive.
Add Google Drive, Dropbox, or any other supported provider — this is where your converted WebP files will land.
Pick them from a connected drive, or upload from your device the same way you'd start any transfer.
When staging the file, pick WebP as the output format.
Choose which connected drive the converted file should land in, then start the job.
Converting a whole folder of images? Select them all — they run as one batch.
You'll get a notification when it's done. The original PNG is untouched; the WebP is a new file in your chosen destination.
